Hyperion Bank team welcomes hundreds of children at 2019 Community Picnics
The Hyperion Bank team was proud to sponsor and participate in three Community Picnics presented by State Senator Christine Tartaglione.
This was the 15th year that Sen. Tartaglione has hosted the annual August picnics for families in Philadelphia's 2nd District, to ensure that local school children have the supplies they need for school. Her office says that nearly 1,000 new backpacks--which members of our team helped fill with school supplies--were distributed to children at Fairhill Square Park, Lawncrest Recreation Center, and Wissinoming Park & Rec Center.

No matter what type of school your child attends, education can be a financial challenge. My goal each year is to make attending school a little easier for the kids and their families while giving them one more chance to enjoy the summer before classes begin.
Senator Tartaglione

At each Community Picnic, families enjoyed face painting, child fingerprinting, DJ music, hot dogs, soft pretzels, water ice, and coloring activities at the Hyperion Bank tent. Parents and caregivers also took the opportunity to learn about our banking services, as well as other community services featured by co-sponsoring agencies.

EAGLES Charitable Foundation (ECF)
Hyperion Bank employees celebrated the Eagles' 2017 NFC Championship--on the road to winning the LII Super Bowl--by donating to the Philadelphia EAGLES Charitable Foundation's Eagles Eye Mobile Program, which says, "Every kid deserves Eagle Eyes!"
During our "Dress Down for Charity" campaign, our team members each gave $5.00 on days when they wore Eagles colors to work. Hyperion Bank matched their generous contributions to help provide eyeglasses and vision care for 19 children in need, as well as ECF's autism services.

A Taste of Kensington
Hyperion Bank was proud to sponsor A Taste of Kensington on June 13, 2018. Celebrating the neighborhood's diverse and expanding food culture, this event supports the Greensgrow Community Kitchen, an incubator space for local food entrepreneurs that since 2011 has helped over 75 local food visionaries turn their dreams into reality.
Greensgrow is a non-profit farm based in Kensington that has been a nationally-recognized leader and pioneer in urban agriculture for over 20 years. Founded in 1997 as a hydroponic lettuce farm on the site of a former steel galvanizing plant, today Greensgrow runs an intensive urban farm, Farm Share programs, farmstands, two garden centers, a community kitchen, educational programs, a workshop series, and Mobile Markets throughout the city. Greensgrow is dedicated to reconnecting city dwellers with rural and urban food producers and promoting the greening of Philadelphia's homes and gardens.

The Riverwards Renegade Run
Hosted by The Somers Team, The Riverwards Renegade Run is held on Frankford Avenue in September and raises funds for Adaire Alexander, Horatio B. Hackett, and Henry A. Brown Elementary in the Philadelphia School District.
In the 2017 Run, Hyperion Bank CEO Charlie Crawford (in orange shirt) joined Chris Somers of The Somers Team, which along with The RiverWards Group matched proceeds raised by the Run to give back to these local schools at the heart of their communities.
